Operation Bum Glue: Day 22

I enjoy reading my daily horoscope. So sue me. Yesterday's read was quite fun:

Today, Taurus, you should be feeling especially energetic and enthusiastic. Therefore, this is a great day to start a new enterprise, perhaps involving your home, or just about any kind of life enhancement. More than one opportunity could present itself to you. One could entail creative activities and the other might be more mundane. Undoubtedly, whether you decide to take both or only one, you're going to be busy for a while. Work hard!

Cue Operation Bum Glue: Day 22 and my progress with the WIP! My new Sunday morning ritual seems to be arriving at B&N at opening, nabbing The Best Spot Ever, and settling in for an hour of pleasure reading before I delve into my work. Yesterday I spent a bit of extra time on my character development and I worked with index cards to help flesh out my plot a bit more. It seems I can never plot enough. It also seems to free up my creativity what with all the colored markers and visual nature of using index cards as opposed to using a formal outline. I had a revelation about my turning points as a result of my work and it feels good to move forward on that front.

Sleep seemed to elude me last night. I'm realizing to the fullest extent what it means for ideas to swim around in one's head in bed. I now keep a small notebook (thanks Santa!) handy on my bedside table so I don't forget anything. Most of the ideas will go into other parts of this current work or in future novels though it would have been nice to come up with something for my current scene to help move me along. I will take all the help I can get! But alas, my notebook didn't help me yet I did get a few words on the screen as I sipped my cup of Constant Comment this morning. I'm holding off on final word count because I'd like to get more tonight.

Total Word Count: TBD
Time Writing: TBD

Inspiration for Today:

Nothing is so fatal to the progress of the human mind as to suppose our views of science are ultimate; that there are no mysteries in nature; that our triumphs are complete; and that there are no new worlds to conquer. - Humphry Davy, lecture (1810)

How have I missed three blogs in a row?! I love the design pictures. I can't wait to buy my own house so I can actually design what I want and not with cheap Wally World bookshelves and crappy flea market items. And paint the walls!

That is a nice horoscope. I haven't checked mine today, but it probably says something about "You'll realize at least ten things you failed to do at work. Get to work or the floggings will begin."

Seriously, it was that bad. It's like my brain took a vacation long about October.

Determined to write tonight! After I make dinner, which is going to be really late at this point. *sigh*
